Daniel in Malaysia Astronaut Selection

It all started in Year 2003. I was eager and energetic and submitted my application with a dream to become Malaysia 1st Astronaut. 2 years 10 months later, I received an email asking me for a first test after my application was shortlisted. From 11900 candidates, the 3.5km run with a timing of 20 minutes managed to eliminate 90% of the candidates.
Left 150 over candidates. On the same day, the medical examination managed to kick more candidates out from the dream to become Malaysia 1st Astronaut. I managed to push my physical fitness and managed to join the group of 59 candidates.... (more)

This is a story is about George Dantzig - the famed mathematician who's contributions to Operations Research and systems engineering have made him immortally

As a college student, George studied very hard and often late into the night. So late, that he overslept one morning, arriving 20 minutes late for Prof. Neyman's class. He quickly copied the two maths problems on the board, assuming they were the homework assignment. It took him several days to work through the two problems, but finally he had a breakthrough and dropped the homework on Neyman's desk the next day.

THE LIVER – Is this your Fear Factor?

1. Lungs & Large Intestines share the system. If one or the other is infected or sick, the other will also be sick.

2. When the Liver is in pain, there are not much signs or symptoms to be detected. Before many cancers happen, usually the Liver will be the first to get sick.

3. Liver filters out the poisons and it attacks all other viruses in the body.

4. 99% Chinese have weak livers as they eat a lot of meat, and high fat foods.

5. The Liver's repair time is effective from 11pm - 3am. Therefore, sleeping late after 11pm & having late night supper 2 hours before sleep... (more)

I was a movie celebrity. At least for 5 days! And will come into view on TV for 1 hour (NTV7, Friday, 830pm). I was asked to act as a boastful contestant. It was really fun. And I was really smug. I bet you will want me to be out even during the very first stunt. "The cocky guy will be out" I can hear your whisper.

Imagine you are all gear-up to climb Ford Frontier at 80meters soaring over a pond cliff. You were sitting at the driver sit. Release handbrake! The stunt man hollered from the ground. Looking down, I scream, "Done".

Are you ready? Yes I'm ready.
OK here we go. On my... (more)

Do I Really Have Six Senses?

I told myself not to believe it. It can't be true. This is not real. But as at today (9.35PM Malaysia time, December 8, 2005) it has again proven to be real.

I was young and kind of a freak. I know what will happen to my personal life next and it does kind of ensued. I know I will achieve my career plan at a reasonably young age and I did. I also know that I'll give it up very soon. Is happening now. May take some time to enliven.

I know I'll into short terms charity work and I did. I will pass my exams well and I did. I know when my friends told... (more)

Why Am I a Thrill Seeker?

People said, life goes on and there is no good significance to have the past affecting the present and the future. I would much agree with that. However, I also give credence to the past and shape up myself to a better level for the future. Life is always a continuous learning. Basically, it is knowledge enhancement and how we apply it to our living.

I was offered a place to study in University of Malaya in year 1997. Came from a reasonably poor and surviving family, the contemplation was to accept the offer or to get a job instead. I decided to go for the offer and hook up on some... (more)
